Nate Vance, cousin of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and a former U.S. Marine, has publicly criticized both his cousin and President Donald Trump for their recent treatment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Nate, who volunteered to fight in Ukraine against Russian forces, labeled them as “Putin’s useful idiots” following a contentious Oval Office meeting that resulted in the suspension of U.S. support for Ukraine.
Expressing his disappointment, Nate revealed that despite his frontline experiences, J.D. Vance never sought his perspective on the war. He stated, “His own cousin was on the front lines. I could have told him the truth, without pretense, without personal interest. He never tried to find out more.”
Nate also condemned the administration’s approach towards Zelenskyy, describing it as an “ambush of absolute bad faith,” and cautioned against underestimating Russia’s stance, asserting that attempts to placate Vladimir Putin are misguided.
These remarks have intensified scrutiny of Vice President Vance’s foreign policy stance and his alignment with President Trump’s approach to the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
